Closing date approaches for entry to sixth Annual SCCUL Enterprise  Awards

Businesses planning to enter the SCCUL Enterprise awards are being urged to submit their entries as soon as possible. The deadline for entries to the innovative awards programme which celebrates entrepreneurship and rewards local enterprise is 5.30pm tomorrow Friday November 6.

Launched last month, the competition is already attracting a strong level of interest from businesses intent on claiming the €10,000 cash top prize.  Michael Smyth, General Manager SCCUL Enterprises is delighted with the level of interest in this year’s SCCUL Enterprise Awards.

“Feedback received from participants in the SCCUL Enterprise Awards over the past six years has told us that the taking part in awards process has made a significant impact on the success of their businesses,” says Mr Smyth. “It is great to see so many businesses apply early this year.  I would encourage any business planning to enter to log on to www.scculawards.ie and complete the online application before this Friday.”

A new initiative this year is the SCCUL Enterprise Awards Bursary which is sponsored by St. Columba’s Credit Union. This €5,000 cash prize is designed to support a local entrepreneur or not for profit organisation in facing the day to day challenges of the early years in business.

“We pleased this year to introduce the SCCUL Awards bursary”, says Michael Smyth.

“This bursary is designed to give a local entrepreneur or not for profit organisation a significant boost to their business. We are delighted that St. Columba’s Credit Union has come on board as the sponsor of this new initiative.”
