Resilient Frank brings his team up the mountains for Climb4Cancer challenge

This weekend will see local business man and Ultra Marathon runner Frank Byrnes of Frank Byrnes Autobody Repairs Ltd Galway with the help of Peter Daly of AkzoNobel Car Refinishing Ireland Ltd organise and coordinate 31walkers to take on a challenge of a life time.

The journey will see them climb the four highest mountains in Ireland, one in each of the four provinces, climbing a total of 11,904 meters and traveling 798 miles by road, and all in three days. Their goal of Climb4Cancer is to raise a minimum €20,000 that will help fund and support the Irish Cancer Society’s home care nursing teams.

Walkers have been asked to raise €1,000 through sponsorship and mini events such as quiz nights etc.

“This will also be a journey to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer particularly in our industry. The group will carry ribbons to the top of every mountain to represent those who are no longer with us,” said Frank.

There are 19 Climbers from around county Galway joining Frank and the remainder from all around the country. Joining Frank will be Aiden Devitt, Al Callanan, Jude and John Donnellan, Brian Melia, David Ross, David Leyne, Richard Burke, Tom Joe and Noel Kelly, Stephen O Brien, Michael Hannon, Vincent Small, John and Niall Walsh, Garry Mc Donald, Corionna Corcoran, Brendan Waldron, and Dermot O Hara.

Join the journey of hope, support and remembrance Climb4Cancer in 2015 by donating and help raise much needed funds for Cancer Home Care.
