Sean nós and Irish dancing challenge

A Sean Nós and Irish Dancing Challenge will take place at 9pm in the Cruiscín Lán Hotel, An Spidéal, this Sunday June 8 to help raise funds for the Coiste Traidphicnic festival, now in its third year.

The Coiste Traidphicnic festival will take place in An Spidéal on Friday July 4 and Saturday July 5.

Loretta Callanan, of Lord of the Dance fame, has been teaching those willing to get sponsorship, along with popular performer Marian Ní Chonghaile who has been teaching sean nós dancing.

The first round has already been completed, and faces like Cliona Standún of Standún’s, Spiddal, Róisín O’Hara from TG4, Andrea Rossi from the Andrea Rossi Art Studio in Spiddal Craft Village, and Vincent Barker from Walking West, will perform sean nós and Irish dancing.

There will be a €5 charge on the door. People can support the dancers and even enter the people’s choice vote on the night. There will be a raffle and prizes at the event.

For more information, contact chairperson Bridget Barker on 087-9717080, visit traidphicnic.com or see www.facebook.com/traid phicnic.
