Kick Assphalt Run early bird discount ending soon

The 15 per cent early bird discount for the Galway Simon Community Kick Assphalt Run is coming to an end on April 30.

Thecharityis encouraging all runners and walkers who wish to participate to sign up soon to avail of this discount.

The Kick Assphalt Run, sponsored by the Bon Secours Hospital Galway and NRG Fitness, is a 10k and a 10 mile run taking place on June 22.

The 10k run is perfect for those who wish to either complete a 10k for the first time this year, or to clock up a personal best at this distance. It is suitable for runners, joggers and walkers over 18.

For those who are looking for a greater challenge and who may have a couple of 10ks already under their belt, there is the 10 mile run, which is an excellent training platform for those looking to achieve a half or full marathon in 2014.

Both runs are flat and fast and take in Galway Bay. Timing chips, race medals and technical running t-shirts will be provided for all participants.

Overseeing the event will be Joanne Murphy, the voice behind Tri Talking Sport, who provides MC and sports commentary services to a variety of events across Ireland and Britain.
