Every Galwegian knows Lynch’s Castle and the story of Mayor Lynch who hanged his own son, but what is the real story behind the Lynch family in Galway?

The Lynchs were one of the Tribes of Galway, and dominated economic and political life in Galway city, producing 84 mayors between 1484 and 1654.

This Saturday at 2pm in the Galway City Museum, author Adrian Martyn will discuss the Tribes of Galway with a special focus on this illustrious family. For further details or to make a booking contact the museum on 091 - 532460.
