Wrestling stars at Salthill this weekend

Galway wrestling fans are in for a treat as stars of American wrestling will again make their way to Leisureland in Salthill on Saturday August 18, at 7pm.

Spectators will witness the power of heavyweight wrestlers and the athleticism of the cruiserweight division.

After the success of last year’s event, some noted names will be appearing in the ring. The American Killdozer, who moved to the UK at young age, is known for his tough-talking attitude and merciless destruction of his opponents. This wrestler puts on a great show, complete with heavy metal and steel chains. Currently on a two month tour of the USA, the Killdozer is preparing to take on all comers on his first visit to Galway.

‘Pretty Boy’ Petey Precious is well known for his boastfulness and has recently told reporters that he is the best high-flyer in wrestling. This display prompted a challenge from Mexican Luchador Santo. Santo is a master of the 619 and the tope rope hurricarana, and is on a mission to prove Petey Precious wrong.

Galway resident ‘Celtic Warrior’ Eamon O’Neill also makes an appearance on Saturday. Since his last appearance at Leisureland, O’Neill has wrestled at several shows around Europe, including a week-long tour with WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. O’Neill has learned several tricks and tips from the wrestling legend and is looking forward to performing in front of a home crowd.

After a night of exciting action, fans will have the chance to meet all the wrestlers and collect autographs and take photographs.

Tickets for the American Wrestling event are €10 and can be purchased now from the reception desk of Leisureland.
