Some of the country’s leading designers and milliners will headline the “Glamour at the g” fashion event at the five star g Hotel on Wednesday May 16 at 6pm.

The headline designers include Una Burke, Jennifer Rothwell, Heidi Higgins, Heather Finn and Claire O’Connor.

The designers will showcase their unique flair and style at the award winning hotel. Ted Baker, one of the fastest growing lifestyle brands in the UK, will also exhibit a selection of his spring/summer creations.

The funds raised will go to the Galway Hospice, ISPCC and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

TV3 Xposé presenter Karen Koster will host the annual event with the emphasis on show stopping fashion for the summer season and the 2012 Galway Races Festival. The models will be from the Catwalk Model Agency.

Designed by Ahascragh milliner Philip Treacy, the g hotel is synonymous with millinery, which will also feature heavily in the show as a selection of the country’s leading milliners will show case their summer collections.

Designers including Mark T Burke, Edel Ramberg, Fiona Mangan, Carol Kennelly and Martha Lynn will also create a bespoke ‘g inspired’ headpiece especially for “Glamour at the g”.

Speaking at the launch Triona Gannon, the general manager of the g Hotel, said it has become the fashion event of the year in Galway.

“The 2012 show promises an absolute designer indulgence with a real wow factor! The g is thrilled to be associated with such an inspiring showcase in aid of three extremely worthy charities.”

The west of Ireland’s leading boutiques and fashion houses will provide top fashions on the night, including Olivia Danielle, Les Jumelles, the Design Platform, Clifden, Treasure Chest, Colette Latchford, Suzie Mahoney Designs, Squisito and Emily Jean O’Byrne.

Tickets cost €65 each and are available directly from each of the three charities; the Galway Hospice (Michael Craig at (091 ) 770868 ), the ISPCC (Carmen Taheny at (085 ) 1784686 ), and the NBCRI [Anna O’Coinne at (087 ) 2339707 ).
