The Western Family History Association will host a workshop on investigating your family history later this month as part of Galway’s Heritage Week programme.
The Western Family History Association is a genealogy association based in Galway with members from counties Galway, Clare, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, and Leitrim. It operates as a support for members and does not carry out research.

The workshop speakers are Bríd Higgins, secretary, Western Family History Association, who will introduce the sources used in family history; Siobhan McGuiness, Galway Family History Society West, who will speak on tracing your ancestors through Galway’s genealogy centres; and Gerard Naughton, Western Family History Association committee member, who will talk about compiling all your family history research.
The workshop is free and all are welcome. The event will also see the launch of the Western Family History Association’s new website.
