New Ken Loach film to be premiered in Galway

KEN LOACH’S latest film, Route Irish, will be premiered this evening at 8pm in Monroe’s Dominick Street.

‘Route Irish’ is the codename given to the road between Baghdad airport and the US’s Green Zone in the Iraqi capital. The film is a drama-thriller with a strong message about the Iraq war.

According to GAAW’s spokesperson, Niall Farrell, Ken Loach’s film needs to be shown throughout Ireland.

“In the context of the recent Wikileaks revelations concerning Shannon Airport’s vital role in the USA’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan this film is a must-see for an Irish audience,” he said.

The screening is being organised by the Galway Alliance Against War and admission is free.
