Ahascragh milliner’s creations get royal nod from Kate

As the who’s who receive their invites there will be one Galwayman who will be making an impact at the upcoming royal nuptials by helping Prince William’s bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, turn a few heads in one of his creations.

Milliner Phillip Treacy, one of Ahascragh’s most famous exports, has been commissioned to create wedding hats for members of the royal family with Kate Middleton rumoured to get the top choice. Although Middleton is expected to wear a veil for the ceremony, it will be a Treacy creation that will be donning her head at some point during the wedding day or the weekend that follows.

It is also rumoured that Prince William’s future mother-in-law, Carole Middleton, could also be visiting the Irish designer for an exclusive fitting. Kate Middleton has already proven herself to be fan of Treacy’s work having worn one of his wide brimmed black hats for the prince’s Sandhurst passing-out parade in 2006. Treacy has made creations for many members of the royal family.

Spokespeople for the designer have confirmed that hats will be made for members of the royal family but they remain tight lipped on the confidential details.
