The Industry Research and Development Group (IRDG ) will hold an Enterprise Innovation Network Event at the Clayton Hotel, Galway on Tuesday 12 October from 8:30 to 11:30am.

The purpose of the event is to bring together and provide a forum for like-minded individuals involved in research, development and innovation to discuss issues of common interest.

The theme is “Optimising Commercial Success through Successful Collaboration in Research, Development and Innovation”. The guest speakers will discuss the ingredients for successful collaboration between companies and with third level institutions.

Guest speakers include Dr Joe McBreen, founder of Connaught Electronics and chairman of Celtrak; Richard Gribbons, innovation and commercial director at Caragh Precision; Dr Neil Ferguson, acting director, Technology Transfer Office at NUIG; and Julian Ellison, managing director, Intime Media, a company based at the Innovation in Business Centre at GMIT Castlebar.

Its CEO, Gerard Concannon, is a former chairman of IRDG and a current board member. Commenting on the event, Gerard Concannon said; “The Enterprise Innovation Network provides an ideal opportunity for people involved in R&D to network and discuss common issues. It is well recognised that research, development and innovation form the engine of future growth for the Irish economy, and events like this bring together some of the people that will drive that growth”.
