Two arrested following early morning stabbing

A file is being prepared for the director of public prosecutions following a stabbing at a city centre apartment in the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday ).

A man was brought by ambulance to UHG with stab wounds to his arm after a row broke out at the apartment in Raleigh Row at 3am yesterday. He was released from hospital yesterday morning.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the incident, and the area was cordoned off yesterday morning while a technical examination of the apartment and the area outside it took place.

Two people — a 34-year-old man and a woman, 29, — were arrested at the apartment at 4am yesterday, and questioned at Galway Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. Both were released without charge yesterday afternoon, and a file on the incident is currently being prepared.
