Run for Cope in Streets of Galway race

Local charity COPE Galway is calling on people who plan to take part in the Streets of Galway road race in early August to join its team and fundraise for its local social services.

The money will be used to finance services for homeless people, women and children experiencing domestic violence, and older people in Galway.

“Joining with our team couldn’t be easier, simply visit our website www.copegalway.ie or give us a call and we will send you a race registration form, plus your COPE sponsorship pack. Every person that joins with us will receive a COPE T-shirt,” says Fintan Maher of COPE Galway.

“When you run the Streets of Galway 8k in aid of us every cent raised will be used directly in Galway to provide housing and support for people who are homeless, a refuge and outreach service for women and children, and a meals service and day centre for older people.”

The road race takes place on Saturday August 7 at 7pm, starting and finishing at Southpark at the Claddagh. The entry fee is €18 and the closing date for entries is July 16.

“We would advise anyone interested in doing the ‘Streets’ to register directly with COPE Galway or by visiting galwaycityharriers.com to avoid disappointment. If you have any queries give us a call in COPE Galway and we will give you all the information you need,” he says.

Telephone (091 ) 778750 or visit COPE’s website at www.copegalway.ie to receive a sponsorship pack.
