Foul play not suspected in Merlin Park death

Gardaí have ruled out foul play in the death of a man whose body was discovered in the grounds of Merlin Park Hospital on Tuesday.

The body was discovered at the rear of a maintenance building in the hospital grounds on Tuesday morning. He was named yesterday as Pat Carney from Doughiska.

It is believed the man, who was in his forties with an address on the east side of the city, fell from scaffolding which had been erected beside the building.
