Coláiste na Coiribe face ultimate test

Galway’s Coláiste na Coiribe take on the Munster champions Beara Community School in the All Ireland Colleges final on Saturday in Killmallock, Co Limerick (2pm ).

Beaten narrowly in last year’s semi-final, Coláiste na Coiribe have regrouped, added new players to the squad, and are hoping their strong run in the competition will culminate with victory on Saturday.

The season started with an impressive victory over St Mary’s College in the Galway Integrated Competition – a competition which will see Coláiste na Coiribe play St Jarlath’s College, Tuam in the final later this year. Victories over Galway side Coláiste Colmcille, Indreabhán, and Lacken Cross of Ballina in the vocational competition paved the way for a win against Crossmolina in the final before overcoming Leinster champions Tullamore Community College in the semi-final.

Under the guidance of Eoin de Blácam, Lorcán O Callaráin and Dennis Carr the team is backboned by Cathal Breathnach, Dara Seoige and Gearóid O Ceannabháin, while

Eoghan O Riogáin, Cian Mac Fhinn, county panellist Fionntán O Curraoin, Liam ó Fiannachta and Sean ó Leidhinn, have been key figures in the campaign.
