In winter, people tend to shut down and conserve energy, as they are not as active or physically fit as they are in summer. This, however, can affect your well-being. To maintain good health both physically and emotionally do not let winter keep you from your regime. If you are among the 50 per cent of Irish people who do not exercise at all, winter is as good a time as any to get physical. There are a number of different ways to get fit and healthy and the Kingfisher Club has a wide range of programmes, classes, packages, facilities, and equipment to help people of any age to achieve their goal, and all from €9 a week.
Drop two dress sizes by Christmas
This week the Kingfisher Club sees the return of the successful ‘operation transformation’ and ‘body buster’ six-week fitness campaign, where qualified instructors will plan six-week programmes for each individual. The operation transformation, and body buster programmes will include both a healthy eating and exercise plan that could see you drop two dress sizes in time for Christmas. Members are invited to call in to their local Kingfisher Club to participate in these free programmes.
The Kingfisher boot camp is a fun, high intensity military style training programme designed to challenge you physically and mentally. It is four weeks of motivating training that will take your results to the next level.
The physical benefits from boot camp include increased fitness cardio levels, reduced body fat, and increased muscle tone. The results gained, however, are not only physical as many people also report that they sleep better, have more energy and in some cases feel more confidence and motivation in all other areas of their lives.
What makes The Kingfisher Club boot camp different from other fitness programmes is that it is run completely outdoors. Instructors do not only challenge and motivate you physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Mother and baby group
A class for babies with mammy, daddy, granny or granddad. The class is in the pool and is based on nursery songs with a swimming twist which helps build the confidence of baby and mum in the water. The main emphasis is on having fun. The course is also highly structured, with a carefully designed, progressive lesson plan.
The purpose built Kingfisher aerobics rooms offer a variety of classes to suit all levels of fitness for both men and women. For an entire body workout look no further than the Body Combat class, the empowering cardio workout is fiercely energetic, and is inspired by martial arts. The Kingfisher Club has also recently launched the new and exciting Zumba class. Zumba is a hypnotic fusion of Latin and international rhythms with easy to follow moves that create a dynamic fitness programme, the routines feature resistance training combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
