See your baby in 4D

InnerVision Ultrasound has just celebrated its third year in business offering pregnant women the chance to see their babies.

InnerVision was established in Mayo as the first ultrasound unit outside of Dublin to offer a 4D ultrasound to expectant mothers.

The company endeavours to offer a personal welcoming experience to visitors who come from Donegal to Limerick, Galway to Mullingar, and even as far as Belfast.

The company pride themselves on the number of couples who return to have scans on subsequent babies. They carry out scans from nine weeks gestation (2D ) to approximately 32 weeks gestation. It is also possible to carry out a 2D scan earlier than nine weeks if the prospective parents are anxious to check the baby’s heartbeat.

The demand for early scans is increasing due to waiting lists for the first hospital scan. Parents now want to know all is going to plan in early pregnancy and are no longer happy to wait until 20 weeks or more. Couples can request a 2D scan to determine the gender of the baby.

With most Maternity Units only offering one scan during pregnancy unless they are considered high risk, couples go to InnerVision to have an additional scan to see their baby whether in 2D or 4D.

All scans are performed by a Midwife Specialist with a Higher Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging. She has over 24 years’ experience as a midwife and eight years’ experience in scanning.

Whilst the scans at InnerVision are for social purposes, should there be any obvious problems seen during the scan the sonographer would divulge this to you, and advise what to do next.
