Cuan na Gaillimhe Community National School in Knocknacarra will hold an Open Day on Wednesday, November 11. Children, parents and families are invited to tour the school, meet the teachers and see a Steiner-inspired classroom at work.
Cuan na Gaillimhe CNS offers a child-centred education that aims to nurture “the hand, the head and the heart” of every child. It offers a warm, inclusive and nurturing primary education where childhood is cherished, individuality is celebrated and learning comes alive through imagination, creativity, nature and meaningful experiences.
Principal Helen Sherry said that rooted in the heart of Galway, the school values each child as a unique individual, fostering curiosity, imagination, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
“As a Community National School, we are inclusive and welcoming to all.”
The afternoon begins with a tour of the school and a chance to meet the team from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. From 4:30pm to 5:30pm, the school will host a talk, Understanding Steiner Education in a Community National School Context.
The talk covers how the school brings creativity, curiosity and community together within the national school system. Parents and babies in arms are welcome.
The Open Day comes as admissions open for the 2027/28 school year. Families can apply online, or download and post the admissions form, via the school’s admissions page, which also includes application dates and deadlines.
