TWO Tipperary brothers were remanded on assault charges to appear again before Galway District Court on December 14.
Luke and Cathal Conneely, both of Garrymore, Newtown, Nenagh, appeared before Judge Adrian Harris on assault charges at the November 2 sitting of the Court.
The brothers were unrepresented in Court and said they had an Ennis-based solicitor who would be acting for them. It is alleged they were involved in assaults on males in the Fairgreen Road area of the city.
Prosecuting Garda Sgt Damien Prendergast asked for matters to be adjourned until December when both could either enter a signed guilty plea or, in the case of a not-guilty plea, the Gardaí would then compile a book of evidence to be handed over to their defence team.
Judge Harris remanded both defendants until the agreed date and advised them to get legal advice before then.
