A YOUNG driver who had his car seized and impounded by Gardaí came before Galway Court on Monday seeking to retrieve his vehicle.
He made his appeal before Judge Fiona Lydon and was represented by Cathy McDarby solr.
Judge Lydon instructed the applicant to enter the witness box and take the oath. His solicitor said there was a copy of his driving licence and insurance details available to the Court for examination.
The lad was ordered to make a solemn promise that if he got his car back he would only drive it in a manner that was within the law. He did so.
Judge Lydon asked if he understood the oath he had taken and if he broke the law again while driving he could go to prison. He assured her he did.
“You’ve heard what is required of you loud and clear so make sure you comply,” the Judge warned him, before making the order for his car to be returned to him.
