Charge of attack on Headford Rd house adjourned

A JUDGE demanded to know what exactly some young men were up to when they allegedly tried to kick in a door of a house in the Headford Road area in the early hours of the morning.

Robert Cullinane, 66 Baile an Chóiste, Castlegar appeared before Galway District Court on charges relating to damage to property at 64 Caireal Mór, Headford Road on October 1 last.

Judge Fiona Lydon was told by Garda Sgt Christy Brown that a number of males had gathered outside the house and broke the doorbell and a door panel. They were looking for another male and shouting for him to come outside.

The Judge said she was curious to know what the alleged business of the men was at that time of night and added that if the Gardaí had any information in that regard when the case came to trial, it would be of great help to her, before adjourning the matter.
