BYD expand offering

The arrival of the Atto 2 Super Hybrid and the electric Atto 3 Evo means that BYD's offering in Ireland has entered double digits.

Starting at €32,990, the Atto 2 Super Hybrid is the fourth BYD hybrid to launch here and comes with a generous level of standard equipment. Benefitting from BYD’s Super DM (Dual Mode ) hybrid technology, the Atto 2 delivers what BYD claims is ‘class-leading fuel efficiency’. That equates to an electric-only range up to 90km and a combined range up to 1,000km.

With compact dimensions of 4,330mm in length, 1,830mm in width, 1,675mm in height and a 2,620mm wheelbase, the Atto 2 delivers battery capacities up to 18kWh and power up to 156kW.

An updated version of the first BYD model to arrive in Ireland back in spring 2023, the Atto 3 Evo is available in two model variants: a rear-wheel drive ‘Design’ version from €40,530, and an ‘Excellence’ version equipped with permanent all-wheel drive at €43,985.

BYD says that the Atto 3 Evo offers substantial technical gains, over not only the original Atto 3, but also the wider family-EV market. New are its increased power, larger battery with longer range (510km ), and quicker charging (220kW ).

Load capacity is a larger 490-litres boot expandable to 1,360-litres, with a new 101-litre 'frunk' (front trunk ) and numerous interior ‘pack-away’ storage places. Towing capacity is 1500kg (braked ) and BYD's Vehicle-to-Load (V2L ) technology, can power external devices at up to 3kW.

A six-year manufacturer's vehicle and eight years' or 250,000km battery warranty applies.
