Coen’s Spray Finishing: a family business rooted in Clarinbridge

It was in 1979 when PJ Coen first put down roots in Clarinbridge. So when the time came to establish his own business, it seemed only natural that the local area would become its home.

PJ initially opened Coen’s Spray Finishing in Coolratty. As the business outgrew the original premises, the family made the move to the village of Clarinbridge in 1992, where the business continues to operate today.

Over the years, Coen’s Spray Finishing has built its reputation around quality workmanship and a personal, hands-on approach. Today, PJ works alongside his son, Paul, specialising in the spray finishing and refinishing of furniture and interiors, with kitchens and staircases forming a large part of their work along with all types of MDF material.

Their craftsmanship has taken them beyond the local area, having worked on a number of notable projects including Adare Manor, The Shelbourne Hotel and, most recently, the Hawthorn Hotel at Galway Bay.

For homeowners, spray finishing can offer a great way to give an existing kitchen a fresh new look without replacing it. Paul is always happy to talk customers through the process and the options available.

Now approaching an impressive 50 years in business, the Coen family are looking firmly towards the future. As part of that next chapter, they are hoping to welcome someone with spray-finishing experience to join their growing team.

From its beginnings in Coolratty to its long-established home in Clarinbridge, Coen’s Spray Finishing remains very much a family affair, combining decades of experience with the personal service that has been at the heart of the business since 1979.
