Athenry Credit Union cuts the cost of going green

Athenry Credit Union has just launched a reduced interest rate on the existing Green Loan product, making it more affordable for members to cut energy bills and lower their carbon footprint.

Members can borrow at a rate of 5.4% per annum (5.54% APR ) on a wide range of energy-efficient home and transport upgrades.

The reduction applies to home retrofit projects, attic, floor and wall insulation, new energy-efficient windows and doors, heat pump installations, boiler replacements, heat recovery systems, solar panels, and heating controls and upgrades.

It also covers new and pre-owned plug-in hybrid cars purchased through any authorised motor dealership.

Athenry Credit Union is helping members who want to make their homes warmer and cheaper to run, but the upfront cost can be a barrier. By lowering the rate of our green loan, we are helping members spread the cost of these improvements and start saving on energy bills, especially during the winter months.

As a member-owned financial co-operative, Athenry Credit Union reinvests in the communities it serves across Athenry, Ballygar, Birr, Kilkerrin, Kinvara, Menlough and Portumna. The Green Loan reflects that commitment: helping members make practical, lasting choices that benefit their households and the wider environment.

Members who wish to apply for the Green Loan at the new lower rate can call into any branch, visit www.athenrycu.ie, or apply through the Athenry Credit Union mobile banking app.

Loans are subject to approval. Terms and conditions apply. Athenry Credit Union is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
