Salthill Devon face TU Dublin this weekend as they look to get back on track in the FAI National League.
Greg Cunningham's side were defeated 4-1 by St Francis on a disappointing day in the capital. Despite the result, Salthill sit second in the table on seven points, level with Letterkenny Rovers who are top on goal difference.
It was Salthill Devon's first defeat of their National League campaign. Two first half goals by St Francis' Danny Hickey gave the home side control before they extended their lead after the break to seal the three points through goals by Conor Behan and Jamie Gray. Josh Keane-Quinlivan pulled one back for his side with a long range free-kick in the 84th minute.
Salthill will hope the result was just a blip in what has been an impressive campaign to-date. So far, they have played four, won two, drawn one, and lost one. It is important to get back on track this Saturday.
The previous meeting between these two sides was an entertaining 2-2 draw at NFP Park earlier in September. Having taken the lead twice in that tie through goals from Ben McDonnell, a Manny Milongo brace ensured the points were shared.
Returning to winning ways this Saturday will be top priority for Cunningham and his squad. TU Dublin have proven stubborn opposition.
