Galway United has renewed its partnership with ticketing software and services provider Future Ticketing following a summer in which the club’s digital ticketing infrastructure was put to the test with the temporary switch of home fixtures to Pearse Stadium.

With necessary pitch development works taking place at Eamonn Deacy Park, Galway United moved a number of home games to Salthill as part of the club’s inaugural Salthill Summer Series — a significant logistical operation that required the club to move its matchday operation to a new stadium while maintaining a seamless experience for supporters.

Crucially, the club’s existing digital ticketing infrastructure - powered by Future Ticketing’s state of the art software - meant season-ticket holders could continue to use their tickets at the new venue, with tickets scanned digitally on matchday and supporters able to share tickets through the Galway United app.

Paul Leavy, Client Success Manager, Future Ticketing, said the experience provided a real-world demonstration of the value of the club’s long-standing relationship with Future Ticketing and its move towards a fully digital ticketing operation — helping Galway United maintain its connection with supporters while operating from a different home.

“We are delighted that Galway United has entered into another multi-year partnership with us and we see it as a vote of confidence in our technology, our customer service and our understanding of what the club needs.

“We are especially pleased that Galway United supporters have adopted the Digital Ticketing App which they install on their phones, ensuring their tickets - both season tickets and match day tickets - are instantly accessible in a couple of clicks.

“We have been impressed with the renovation work at Eamonn Deacy Park and wish the club and its supporters well on the return to the real home of Galway United football,” he said.

The SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division club said the move to continue the well established relationship with Future Ticketing is critical to Galway United’s continued modernisation.

Galway United is poised to embrace the full suite of functionality provided by the cutting edge Future Ticketing platform.

While purchasing paperless match day tickets remains a core concern of many supporters and has been at the heart of the Future Ticketing offering, the company’s technology also eases season ticket booking and renewal and opens up other revenue-raising routes.

Sam O’Neill, Head of Commercial & Marketing, Galway United said the Future Ticketing platform has been ideal for their needs at Galway United and it perfectly aligns with the goals of modernisation and efficiency which they have set ourselves in recent years.

“The digital ticketing systems provided by Future Ticketing enable us to guarantee the best match day access experience for our supporters, while at the same time streamlining our administration and giving us an insight into what our fans really want.

“We are excited about our continued close working relationship with Future Ticketing and acknowledge the important role it has played over the last few years,” he concluded.
