A MAN charged with the murder of his mother who appeared via video-link from prison before Galway District Court this week, was further remanded in custody by Judge Fiona Lydon.
33-year-old Dubravko Ostojic, of Claí Mór, Ballybrit, Galway, was again before the Court via video-link on Monday last, September 21, where he was further remanded in custody.
He was initially charged with assault but this charge was upgraded to murder after his mother, Milena Ostojic (65 ) died having sustained serious injuries at her home at Clai Mór, Ballybrit, on April 24.
A book of evidence is being prepared by the DPP and when this is completed Ostojic will be brought from custody to appear in person when the book will be presented to his defence team and the case will then leave the District Court and transfer to the higher Central Criminal Court.
