Ahascragh Distillery launches new distillery logo

Ahead of 2027 whiskey release, Ahascragh Distillery has unveiled a new logo inspired by family, heritage and the shared vision behind the award-winning Galway distillery.

At the heart of the new identity is a griffin, created by bringing together two powerful emblems from the family crests of founders Gareth and Michelle McAllister: the lion and the golden eagle. Intertwined within the letter “A” for Ahascragh, the design represents the coming together of two families and the future they are building in the village of Ahascragh.

“Two family crests, one shared legacy,” said founder Michelle McAllister. “This new logo begins a new chapter, bringing together the strength, heritage and values of both families in a symbol of unity that honours where we come from and represents the future we are building together.”

The contemporary golden eagle will continue as the emblem of Clan Colla, the distillery’s series of premium Irish whiskeys, preserving its distinctive identity within the wider Ahascragh portfolio.

The unveiling marks an important milestone as Ahascragh Distillery prepares to release its first whiskey distilled on site in early 2027. It will represent the next stage in the story of the restored nineteenth-century mill, which officially opened in 2023 as Ireland’s first zero-energy-emissions distillery.

The Ahascragh Distillery portfolio includes Clan Colla Irish Whiskey and Xin Gin, complemented by guided tours and tasting experiences for visitors at the restored distillery in east Galway.

Rooted in its local community but looking confidently to the future, the new logo captures what Ahascragh Distillery stands for: family, place, innovation and a shared commitment to creating exceptional Irish spirits more sustainably for generations to come here in County Galway.
