From its headquarters in Loughrea, Glanua has grown from a Galway business into an international engineering group, delivering water, wastewater and environmental solutions across Ireland, the UK, Europe and now the United States. But despite that international growth, Galway remains at the heart of the business.
Glanua was created through the integration of several established engineering businesses, bringing them together under one identity and one vision, to provide innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for a cleaner planet. Today, more than 750 people work across the Group, with its headquarters remaining firmly rooted in Loughrea.
The scale of the growth is remarkable. Glanua recorded revenue of €155 million in 2025 and expects this to exceed €200 million this year, with a secured order book of approximately €900 million to 2030.
Behind those numbers are the people who design, build, operate and maintain critical infrastructure. Earlier this month, Glanua welcomed its 750th employee, Mark McKeever, who joined as US Operations Director as the company opened its first US office in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
The US expansion is the latest chapter in Glanua’s international journey. The company has grown significantly in Ireland and the UK, while also establishing an engineering hub in Lisbon. Its US team will initially focus on specialist water and wastewater solutions for the pharmaceutical, life sciences and food manufacturing sectors, with plans to create more than 200 jobs over time.
Closer to home, Glanua continues to invest in people and skills. Its graduate and apprenticeship programmes are helping develop the next generation of engineers, while its manufacturing facility in Navan supports the company’s growing capabilities in off-site manufacturing and innovative engineering. Innovation is central to what Glanua does. Its teams combine engineering, digital delivery, manufacturing and operational experience to develop solutions that are not only technically effective, but practical to build, operate and maintain.
The company’s Galway roots also extend into the local community. Glanua supports organisations and initiatives across the region, including its sponsorship of Loughrea Gaelic Football Club and the Loughrea Triathlon Festival, alongside fundraising and community projects through its CSR programme.
As Glanua looks ahead, its ambition is clear, to continue growing internationally while creating opportunities at home. Glanua may now have a global footprint, but its roots remain firmly planted in Galway and from Loughrea, its next phase of growth is reaching well beyond the county.
