Mervue United take on Home Farm DCU this weekend with a place at the top of Group 1 up for grabs.
Provisionally set to take place at Whitehall Stadium, the fixture has been moved to Fahy's Field this Sunday with kick-off at 3pm. The switch is due to upcoming road closures around Whitehall Stadium this coming weekend.
Brendan O'Connor's side will be eager to build on their unbeaten start to the FAI National League campaign. A Donnacha McNamara brace fired Mervue United to a 2-1 victory over Lucan United last weekend. That victory put them joint top of their group on four points tied with Sunday's opponents.
McNamara's two strikes made the difference as Mervue United came from behind to win at Copper Face Jacks Park last Saturday. They fell behind early on to a clever corner routine after seven minutes. Goalkeeper Peter Healy was unfortunate as Taylor Mooney's strike cannoned off the post and back against him to end up in the net.
But Mervue gathered themselves and responded well. McNamara rifled a left-footed shot from 25-yards into the far right bottom corner to bring his team level on the 29th minute.
And the McNamara rescue act didn't stop there as he doubled his tally and put Mervue United 2-1 up before half-time. This time curling a right-footed effort from the edge of the box past the Lucan goalie into the right bottom corner once more.
Home Farm DCU also kicked their campaign off with a draw. A 2-2 stalemate against Bonagee United was followed up with their first victory away at Cockhill Celtic as they won 2-0.
It all makes for an enticing encounter in Mervue this Sunday afternoon.
