Cllr Mary Hoade has received confirmation, following consultation with Galway County Council this week, on the works on the Church Road in Headford.
"I have been informed that Harringtons are scheduled to be on site this week to do the overlay and Colas will then do the line marking," Cllr Hoade said. "Works are planned to be substantially complete towards the end of next week. I have requested that any remaining works that need to be carried out will not take place during peak school times, and I have received an assurance on that."
School is scheduled to open on August 27.
Cllr Hoade also extended her thanks to Tom Coleman, John Coyle and the team in the Tuam Council office for their work on the project and their involvement in the public consultation in advance of the scheme.
