Record-breaking Qashqai continues to push limits

The Nissan Qashqai e-Power set a new world record for the longest journey completed by a non-plug-in extended-range electric vehicle SUV without external charging or refuelling.

Nissan's Qashqai e-Power earned the Guinness World Record title having covered 1,980km on a single tank in Colombia. The vehicle travelled from Bagotá to the Caribbean coast and covered a wide variety of road, traffic and driving conditions. Every stage of the attempt was independently monitored and verified by Guinness World Records judges, who certified the achievement following a detailed review process.

The new record-breaking drive follows successful long-distance challenges in the UK and Tasmania. By combining electric motor-driven performance with the convenience of traditional refuelling, Nissan says its e-Power technology offers drivers the benefits of electric driving without the need for charging, helping make electrification more accessible for everyday use.

Unlike conventional hybrid systems, the wheels in an e-Power vehicle are driven exclusively by an electric motor, delivering the instant response, refinement and smooth acceleration associated with EVs.

A highly efficient petrol engine generates electricity when needed, eliminating the need for external charging while maintaining the convenience and flexibility of a conventional vehicle.
