Phone Express in Athenry, Co Galway, was broken into between 4.30am and 5.30am on August 5. Entry was gained by smashing the front window of the commerical premise, where a number of assorted vapes were stolen.

Damage was caused to a patio door on a property in Baile An Ri, Dunlo, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, on August 6 between 9am and 6.30pm. There was a report that a number of youths caused the damage.

Also on August 6, a van used by a tradesman was broken into at a house in Lough Atalia, Galway, between 10.25am and 10.45am. The vehicle was locked at the time but entry was gained and a number of Dewalt power tools taken. Among them: Dewalt Impact Drill, Wrench and Driver, Hammer Drill, large Rachet Set, Dewalt Batteries, including Parkside Petrol Leaf Blower, Chainsaw, 20v and 40v.
Two males were seen at the back of the van and a silver Renault was seen acting suspiciously at the time before driving in the direction of the G Hotel.

Two vehicles were taken from a derelict property at Crowe Street, Gort between July 15 and August 1. The owner reported that as a result of purchasing the property, he stored two vehicles in the shed at the site.
When the owner returned, he discovered that these vehicles - a black Mercedes Benz C Series Saloon (08MO801 ) and a grey Opel Vectra Saloon (98KE3747 ) had been taken. Neither vehicle was drivable and would have needed to be towed.

Traffic restrictions will be in place before and after the Galway United vs Bray Wanderers match on Friday, August 14, at 7.45pm. The match will be at Eamonn Deacy Park, Terryland.

Also, the An Garda Siochana Property App can be downloaded on the App store and Google play store. It’s a free app developed by An Garda Siochana to allow users to record and index property, such as bicycles, laptops, farm machinery, etc.
The app provides the facilities to record unique information associated with users’ property. Should items be stolen, the app also provides a way of reporting this to AGS, as well as the option to share information with the Garda for this purpose.
