Ardán, as managers of Galway City of Film /Ceantar Scannán, are delighted to welcome three emerging animators from India, Germany, and Spain to Galway to participate in the Comhar Gaeilge Animation Residency this August 2026 in Connemara.
Animators Neel Milind Ranadive will join us from Mumbai City of Film; Lino Held will join us from Potsdam City of Film; and Leire Guzmán will join us from Terrassa City of Film!
In August 2026, Stiúideo Fia will present Frame Fest, Ireland’s first stop-motion animation festival hosted in the Connemara Gaeltacht. As a two-day bilingual event, Stiúideo Fia’s Frame Fest offers a unique platform for international artists, filmmakers, and animators to engage in screenings, workshops, exhibitions, and discussions celebrating handmade cinema and animation.
Through the Comhar Gaeilge Programme the three UNESCO Cities of Film animators from India, Spain, and Germany will participate in a curated experience in Connemara during Frame Fest. The residency will immerse the international participants in Gaeilge and Gaeltacht culture while facilitating collaboration and international creative exchange.
