Volvo Car Ireland has announced plans to redevelop its dealer network over the next four years through a combined investment commitment of €40 million from its retail partners.
The company said the collective investment will drive a "complete reimagining" of the traditional customer retail and service experience. This new development will include the introduction of new Scandinavian-inspired showroom lounges.
Development has already commenced at Volvo Sligo, with construction on the new Volvo North Dublin site scheduled to begin by the end of the year. All upgrade works across the retail network are projected to be fully completed within the next four years.
Alan Cowley, managing director of Volvo Car Ireland, said the restructure and investment mark "a pivotal moment" for the brand in Ireland.
"By reimagining our network with highly committed partners, we are ensuring that our retail experience matches the premium, sustainable ethos of our rapidly growing electric vehicle line-up."
There are currently 11 Volvo dealers in the Republic of Ireland, including Connolly's Volvo in Galway.
Volvo Car Ireland said the redevelopment is the result of a two-year review of its national retail network, specifically designed to accelerate the brand’s electric vehicle growth.
"This ensures we are perfectly positioned to meet Irish consumer demand and deliver a world-class customer experience as we approach our 100th year [in 2027]," added Crowley.
The brand targets a 15 per cent share of the premium car market in Ireland by 2030, as well as a 50 per cent growth in sales between 2025 and 2030.
