Gardai are investigating a number of burglaries and property damage in the county this last week and are appealing for information.
The Old National School in Bullaun, Loughrea, Co Galway was broken into between midnight and 9.00am on June 29. A considerable amount of damage was caused to the inside of the building and a number of musical instruments.
Anyone who may have any information related to the incident is asked to contact Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842870.
Also in Loughrea, damage was caused to a window in a house in Fahy’s Garden, Loughrea, at approximately 4.15am on July 2. The owner who was home at the time reported a stone was thrown through the front window.
Anyone who may have information or who witnessed any person(s ) or vehicle(s ) acting suspiciously at these times is asked to contact Gda Damien Martin at Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842870.
Later that day, a house at Colesgrove, Craughwell, Co Galway was broken into between 12.50pm and 2.20pm. Entry was gained through a rear bedroom window of the property.
Two males were seen exiting a small white hatchback car in the area around the time of the burglary.
Gardai would like to speak to anyone who may have noticed this car or people acting suspiciously in the area around this time and encourage them to contact Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842870 or the Garda confidential line on 180 0666111.
Lastly, a construction site at Pairc Na Ri, Athenry, Co Galway, was broken into and a quantity of copper and lead taken on July 6 between 1.30am and 2.30am.
Locks on the shipping containers were cut and it appears the culprits entered the site through the neighbouring Ard Esker estate.
