Green Sod Ireland announces third annual biodiversity summer school

Galway-based environmental charity Green Sod Ireland announces its 3rd annual 2-day Biodiversity Summer School.

The event will take place on the 29th and 30th of August in Kylemore, Co. Galway, in partnership with the University of Notre Dame.

This year’s event focuses on rivers and the habitats, species, and communities they interact with as they move from the mountains to the sea.

The event will feature talks on peatlands, Atlantic Salmon, breeding waders, conservation in the uplands, and invasive species control.

It brings together environmental NGOs, charities, professionals, local community groups, and members of the public to provide a series of events that are educational, enjoyable, and empowering.

Further details will be announced in the coming months.

Green Sod Ireland has also become an Environmental partner with the orginisation 1% of the Planet, which “strengthens [their] ability to support long-term conservation and biodiversity protection across Ireland”.

The environmental charity and land trust has been dedicated to the protection of Irish Wildlife, biodiversity, and ecosystems.
