Uisce Éireann is advising people in the Rahoon Road area of Galway city of possible water outages tonight (Monday ) as a result of planned maintenance works in their area.
Residents in Highfield Park and the surrounding areas may experience disruption to their supply between 8pm on Monday night and 8am on Tuesday morning as a result of these overnight works.
The works are planned to finalise the reinstatement of the road surface after the successful repair of a water main in the area last week. Last week’s repairs were needed to repair a main which had been damaged in a major burst in March.
Tonight’s overnight works will also include the replacement of valves and a fire hydrant.
Teresa Burke of Uisce Éireann said tonight’s planned works are required to restore the road surface to its original condition.
“Our crews successfully repaired the damaged main last week, securing supply of water for residents in the Rahoon Road area,” Ms Burke said. “Tonight’s planned work will complete the job by reinstating the surface of the road to its original condition.
“We understand the inconvenience that can be caused by planned outages, and we thank impacted customers for their support while we carry out these necessary works.”
