Galway gardaí probe criminal damage and fire incidents

Gardaí in Monivea are investigating criminal damage to a derelict house that was severely damaged by fire at Corrafaireen, Monivea on Saturday, June 13 at approximately 3.30pm.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area that day, or have CCTV footage or Dashcam footage from that time, to contact Monivea Garda Station on 091 849002 or use the Garda Confidential line on 1800666111.

Furthermore, Gardaí in Gort are investigating criminal damage to a vehicle that was set alight at Ballyboy in Ardrahan last Sunday, June 21 between 11.40pm and 11.50pm.

The fire personal assessment at the scene described that the vehicle was set alight by an accelerant. This vehicle was then removed for further technical examination.

In the early hours of last Friday morning, Gardaí in Millstreet were alerted to criminal damage to a building and a vehicle parked adjacent to it between midnight and 1am.

Two individuals, believed to be males, wearing gloves and having their faces covered were observed to have thrown a rock at the window of the premises. The windscreen of a vehicle parked close by, a silver Toyota was also smashed.

Meanwhile, Gardaí in Millstreet are also investigating a burglary that occurred at an apartment on Loughatalia Road which occurred on Saturday, June 20 between 5.30am and 10pm.

Entry was gained through a front window that was left opened and a number of items were taken from the premises.

Detectives at Galway Garda Station are investigating the robbery from person that occurred at Salthill Park last Saturday night at approximately 10.45pm.

The injured party reports that they were approached by four male youths and items taken from him while walking through Salthill Park.
