Businesses from across Galway are being invited to attend a dedicated sustainability event this morning Thursday, June 25 in the PorterShed from 9am – 11am that will explore how sustainable business practices can drive growth, improve efficiency, and strengthen long-term competitiveness in their respective sectors, while also protecting the environment.
Hosted by AIB in partnership with Galway Chamber, the event will bring together local business leaders, sustainability experts and SMEs to discuss practical approaches to sustainability and hear from local industry champions already making progress in this area.
The event will feature expert insights, business case studies, and a panel discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges facing businesses today, as sustainability becomes an increasingly important part of commercial decision-making.
With businesses facing rising expectations from customers, investors and regulators, the event aims to provide practical guidance on how organisations can take meaningful steps towards sustainability, while also delivering business benefits.
It will explore topics including sustainability strategy, operational efficiencies, financing considerations and practical examples of sustainability initiatives being implemented by businesses across the region.
Paul Dullaghan, Head Business Banking Northwest and Midlands at AIB, said sustainability is increasingly becoming a business priority for organisations of all sizes. For many businesses, the challenge is understanding where to start and identifying practical actions that can deliver real impact. This event is an opportunity for Galway businesses to hear directly from experts and their peers who are already taking positive steps, and to learn from their experiences.”
The event also aims to encourage collaboration between businesses, financial institutions and regional stakeholders, recognising the important role that partnerships play in supporting sustainable economic growth.
Karen Ronan, CEO of Galway Chamber, said the transition to a more sustainable economy presents significant opportunities for businesses across Galway. “By having Galway Chamber members and partners share knowledge, practical experience and real-world examples, we can help other businesses take meaningful action that benefits both their organisations and the wider community.”
Businesses interested in attending are encouraged to register on the Galway Chamber website.
