Dexcom Stadium will host the WXV Global Series clash between Ireland Women and Japan on Sunday, September 27.

Following their recent Guinness Women’s Six Nations campaign, Ireland now turn their attention to the inaugural WXV Global Series, which will see the top 12 teams in the world compete in a home-and-away touring model within the September and October international window.

It will be the Irish team’s first visit back west since their record-breaking Women’s Six Nations encounter with Italy last April. A record attendance for an Irish women’s home game of 9,206 were treated to a 57-20 victory and a hat-trick of tries from Galway-woman Beibhinn Parsons.

Scott Bemand’s side will kick-off the WXV Global Series against USA in Tallaght Stadium on September 20 before taking on Japan in Galway. Then, they will travel to South Africa for a two-match series on Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31.

Additionally, Bemand’s side will play Japan outside the WXV Global Series window at Virgin Media Park in Cork on Saturday, October 3, providing Ireland with another valuable Test match opportunity before departing for South Africa.

“We’re really excited by the opportunities these fixtures present for the squad. To have three home matches across Tallaght Stadium, Dexcom Stadium and Virgin Media Park gives us the chance to connect with our supporters right across the country again and build momentum as a group heading into the season ahead,” said Bemand.

“Japan and the USA are quality international teams who will challenge us in different ways, and those experiences are invaluable as we continue to grow and develop. We look forward to welcoming them to Ireland.”

Kick-off times and ticket details for Ireland’s match against Japan in Dexcom Stadium will be confirmed in due course.
