Galway Ladies backed up their opening round win with a ruthless 19-point mauling of Tyrone to seal a home All-Ireland quarter-final.
The Tribeswomen now have the weekend off while Meath and Tyrone face off this Saturday. With their place in the last eight confirmed, Galway won't be back in action until either Saturday, July 5 or Sunday, July 6.
Daniel Moynihan's side are in good nick and have seriously impressed in their two All-Ireland fixtures to-date. After those victories, coupled with an impressive league campaign, it is clear to see why they are now the favourites with the bookies to win the championship.
Galway's attacking performances have been eye-catching. Having amassed an immense 6-41 in just two games, the Tribeswomen are one of the finest offensive teams to watch in the country.
Olivia Divilly, Leanne Coen, and Roisin Leonard have starred for their team and are comfortably in All-Star form. Divilly's reliability from frees - she's scored 0-6 from dead balls so far - has been built on with a developing eye for goal. The Kilkerrin-Clonberne player hit the back of the net twice against Tyrone last weekend.
When speaking about goals it's impossible not to mention Leonard who has bagged two in two games. On top of that, the Corofin markswoman has contributed a further 10 points from play in those two fixtures. Coen built on her tally of 0-6 in the opening round against Meath with an additional 1-1 last weekend.
It all makes for comfortable reading for Galway fans. Getting that quarter-final place confirmed as early as possible gives this team ample time to prepare for the knockout stages.
Expectations are high, but if Galway continue how they have started, there is plenty of reason to start dreaming of a date with Croker in early August.
