Galway’s Destiny Facos has been announced as a Miss Universe Ireland 2026 finalist.

The 23-year-old from Gort na Glaise is in her final year studying early childhood education. She is following in the footsteps of fellow Galwegian Aadya Srivastava, who was crowned as Miss Universe Ireland last year.

This year’s winner will join the likes of Roz Purcell, Joana Copper, Dancing with the Stars alum Aishah Akorede and Sofia Labus on the roll of honour of previous Miss Universe Ireland title holders. Miss Universe Ireland has become an increasingly influential platform for ambitious young women in Ireland, opening doors in modelling, media, business, advocacy and international representation.

The winner of this year’s Miss Universe Ireland will receive an exclusive prize package along with the honour of representing Ireland on the world stage at the prestigious Miss Universe global final, where delegates from more than 100 countries will compete for the coveted title and reigning Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico, will crown her successor.

Facos was announced as a finalist at the official Summer Launch Party for Miss Universe Ireland 2026 which took place at Bewley’s Café Theatre on Grafton Street last Thursday, June 4. With a dress code theme of ‘Golden Summer’, guests embraced a night of sparkling style, music and entertainment as the search officially begins for the next woman who will represent Ireland at the prestigious Miss Universe competition.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO ) is a global organisation that celebrates all cultures, backgrounds and religions. It’s a big year for MUO as it prepares to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Miss Universe competition.
