From June 15 to 21, communities across Ireland will unite for Men’s Health Week 2026, a national initiative aimed at shining a light on men’s wellbeing and encouraging men of all ages to take proactive steps toward leading healthier lives. This year’s theme, “One Small Step: Progress Not Perfection”, is a timely reminder that meaningful improvements in men’s health begin with achievable actions; even one small step can make a huge difference.
T. O’Higgins Homevalue Hardware, based in Shantalla, will kick off the local festivities with a Men’s Health Fair hosted on-site on Monday, June 15, between 9:00am to 1:00pm. The Health Fair will feature a range of supports, including free health checks, information stands hosted by local health and wellbeing organisations, and a chance to connect with community services.
The event promises to be an engaging and enjoyable occasion, with a lively atmosphere and a range of attractions for all who attend. Galway Bay FM will broadcast live from the store throughout the day, featuring interviews with representatives from local community groups and businesses who will discuss the importance of men’s health and community engagement. Visitors can also enjoy a display of vintage cars outside the store, while personnel from Renmore Barracks will be on hand to support the event.
The week is supported by the Men’s Health Forum in Ireland (MHFI ), in collaboration with Healthy Ireland HSC, Healthy Ireland local government for Galway, Roscommon and Mayo, and a range of local community agencies invested in men’s health.
