Galway-based recruitment company Salt Medical has been recognised at the 2026 Life Sciences Industry Awards, taking home the Diversity, Equality & Inclusivity Award at this year’s ceremony.

The award marks a major milestone for the growing business, as it was Salt Medical’s first ever awards event, first nomination and first shortlist appearance.

Salt Medical, which specialises in recruitment across Ireland’s medtech and life sciences sectors, was shortlisted alongside major industry names including WuXi Biologics and DHL Health Logistics Ireland before winning the national award.

The event showcased the strength of the West of Ireland’s thriving life sciences and medtech sector, with strong representation from Galway and western-based companies including Merit Medical, NUA Surgical, Palliare Medical and ICS Medical Devices.

Speaking after the awards, Salt Medical said the recognition reflects the positive and inclusive culture built by its team and the company’s commitment to supporting diversity within the life sciences industry.

The awards ceremony, hosted by BusinessRiver and presented by Ivan Yates, brought together leading companies from across Ireland’s pharmaceutical, medtech and healthcare sectors.

The award comes at an exciting time for Salt Medical as the company continues to grow. It is currently recruiting for two senior leadership positions at its Claregalway HQ.

These are for Director of Sales and Director of R&D. These appointments will play a key role in the company’s next phase of growth and innovation.
