Glanua recently celebrated its tenth anniversary in Loughrea in 2026, having established its presence at Railway House on Station Road in 2016. Over the past decade, the company has grown from strength to strength, becoming one of the region’s leading employers and a key contributor to Ireland’s water and wastewater infrastructure sector.
Today, Glanua employs more than 600 people across Ireland and the UK, with over 150 employees based in its Loughrea office. The company delivers critical engineering and operational solutions for municipal, industrial and pharmaceutical clients, supporting some of Ireland’s most essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
As Glanua continues to expand, the company is actively recruiting for more than 20 roles in Loughrea across a wide range of disciplines, including CAD, Design Engineering, Business Process Transformation, Document Control, Tendering, Finance and Learning and Development. Glanua is also investing in the next generation of talent through its Apprentice Programme, Graduate Programme and Summer Internship opportunities.
Sustainability and community engagement remain central to Glanua’s core values. The company is proud to support a number of local initiatives, including sponsoring Loughrea Gaelic Football Club and the Loughrea Triathlon Festival, assisting with Tidy Towns initiatives, and delivering educational talks to local schools on water treatment and sustainability.
Glanua has also supported important school projects such as water connection works for St Raphael’s new changing room facilities and sponsorship of St Brigid’s Formula 1 in Schools programme. Through its annual Golf Classic, the company has also raised more than €100,000 for local charities over the last four years.
Founded in 2008, Glanua has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding its footprint across Ireland and the UK with offices in Cork, Navan, Northern Ireland, London, Manchester and, most recently, Lisbon in Portugal.
The company’s Managing Director, Karl Zimmerer, is currently shortlisted for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award, reflecting the business’s continued success and ambition.
