On Saturday last, Loughrea celebrated a memorable awards night that shone a spotlight on the town’s thriving business community and the exceptional standard of customer care delivered across a wide range of local enterprises.

The evening was not only a tribute to individual winners, but also a powerful reminder of the energy, pride, and generosity that define business life in Loughrea.

“Friendly Business Awards shine a light on the everyday excellence that keeps our communities thriving,” said Dean Swift, JCI Ireland President.

“They celebrate not just great service, but the genuine connections businesses build with people. Their continued success shows the power of recognising those who put friendliness at the heart of what they do.”

Samika Shriyan, JCI Galway said that across the board, businesses demonstrated the qualities that matter most to customers: warmth, consistency, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to making people feel welcome.

“From cafés and salons to service providers, producers, and community-focused venues, the common thread was clear. These were businesses that did more than simply trade well; they built relationships, fostered loyalty, and contributed positively to the town’s social fabric.

“Friendly Business Awards continue to grow because they reflect what truly matters — how businesses make people feel. They recognise the small, thoughtful interactions that build loyalty, trust, and stronger communities. Their success is a testament to the value of kindness in business, she added.

The awards highlighted how strongly Loughrea businesses understand the value of a friendly approach. Customers responded to businesses that offered attentive service, thoughtful details, and a personal touch. In many cases, the praise extended beyond the product or service itself to the atmosphere created by dedicated owners and staff. That sense of care, reliability, and local pride was evident throughout the evening’s recognitions.

What made the night especially successful was the breadth of excellence on display. There was no single formula for success. Some businesses stood out for innovation and digital clarity, others for community involvement, sustainability, or the welcoming environment they created for families, regulars, and first-time visitors alike. Together, they showed that customer care is not a side issue; it is central to business success.

Junior Chamber International (JCI ) Galway Friendly Business Awards 2026 night in partnership with Naomh Breandan Credit Union Loughrea, confirmed that Loughrea’s business community is a source of real strength and distinction.

It reflected a town where standards are high, service is personal, and businesses are judged not only on performance, but on the lasting impression they leave. In every respect, the evening was a celebration of friendly business at its very best.
