Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB ) is offering a one-day Certified Carbon Literacy course at the Bia Innovator Campus on Thursday May 28, from 10am – 4 pm, designed specifically for those working across the food sector and in the community.
This practical and engaging programme builds real understanding of climate action, not just the theory, but what it means for your business, your work and your daily decisions. Participants explore the link between nature, climate and society, including biodiversity loss and the wider impacts of carbon emissions
A strong focus is placed on personal and workplace change, helping learners understand their own carbon footprint and identify simple, achievable actions that make a difference. The course also looks at the realities of food production, from emissions and food waste to soil health and sustainable farming practices, making it highly relevant to anyone involved in food, hospitality or enterprise.
By the end of the day, participants will have developed practical actions to reduce emissions, improve efficiency and contribute to more sustainable supply chains.
This course is fully funded under the Skills to Advance Initiative, making it an accessible opportunity for upskilling and professional development.
Training takes place in the Bia Innovator Campus, where GRETB also delivers Barista Skills and Artisan Bread Making.
If you’ve been thinking about sustainability but aren’t sure where to start, this is a clear, supported starting point.
