Forum Connemara CLG will host a Community Information Day for Older People on Thursday, May 21 from 12:00–3:00 pm in Clifden Town Hall (H71 AE09 ). The event brings together a wide range of local services, supports, and practical resources to help older people stay informed, connected and supported.
Attendees will have access to Croí’s free health checks, including blood pressure and heart health advice delivered by Croí staff. Representatives from Galway County Council will also be present to provide information on grants, supports, and entitlements relevant to older people living in the Connemara region.
The event will feature information stands from local organisations offering advice on health, housing, safety, social supports, community activities, and much more. Visitors can enjoy refreshments and light entertainment on the day.
Speaking ahead of the event, David Bohan, SICAP Project Officer at FORUM Connemara, highlighted the importance of accessible information for older people in rural areas, noting that the day is designed to “bring essential supports together under one roof, making it easier for people to get the guidance they need.”
The Information Day is free of charge and open to all older people, family members, carers, and community representatives.
