Councillor Eddie Hoare (FG ) has welcomed road resurfacing works completed this week on Circular Road. The long awaited works commenced on Monday and should be completed by tomorrow (Friday ).

Having successfully secured resurfacing works on Circular Road last year from the junction at Letteragh Road to Seamus Quirke Road, Councillor Hoare has welcomed the further progress along Circular Road this week. He has also contributed his Local Improvement Scheme funding towards this resurfacing project.

“Large parts of Circular Road have been in very poor shape over the last 12 months. Increased road usage and deteriorating weather conditions over the Winter have seen many roads in the City including Circular Road deteriorate. I have consistently raised this with the roads department and I’m delighted to see this stretch of road upgraded,” Cllr. Hoare added

“Letteragh Road needs further resurfacing and should be progressed as housing developments are progressed. This should also include road markings and additional public lighting. “Furthermore, Irish Water are planning extensive investigation/upgrade works on Ballagh Road later in 2026. Some temporary road resurfacing was completed here recently. However the planned works later in the year will include full road resurfacing works. The roads department in Galway City Council will be monitoring these resurfacing works as they are completed.,” he concluded.
